BLUE skies and sunshine welcomed a full field to the Okehampton Golf Club men's four ball better ball open on Saturday.
With a bit of a breeze and the course in superb condition, everything was perfect for an enjoyable competition.
The overall winners were Evan Rees and Graham Starkey both from Okehampton who came in with 41 points. Second were Lewis Parry and Paul Prouse from Okehampton with 40; third Rob Camies and Nick Godfrey had 39 points.
Best visitors went to Steve Lamb and George Broady from China Fleet with 33 points and best combination pair went to Martin Aggett and Matt Davie from Okehampton and Exeter with 35.
The prize for best home team went to Steve Rice and Tim Hudson with 38.
Earlier this month Okehampton ladies played their monthly Stableford together with the Warren Crocus qualifier.
The winners of the silver division were Penny Deakin with 33pts and Cherry James with 33. The winners in the bronze division were Sue Stanbury with 38pts (resulting in a handicap reduction to 22) and Maureen Willcocks with 34. These two pairs with go on to compete in the Warren Crocus finals in September.
