JOE Drury, the estate manager of Anglers' Paradise at Halwill Junction had the best and worst session of his life on the main lake.

After losing a fish and then breaking a rod Joe's luck changed and he hooked a frisky carp, which and as it slid into the net he knew it was a lake personal best.

Being by himself it could some effort to weigh the catch, which proved to be a 30lb mirror carp.
