OKEHAMPTON's defensive quartet of Jane Jones, Carol Taylor, Jenny Humphry and Sandy Douglas provided a strong backbone to the side and spurred the young side forward to attack in the first half.
A symphony of passes between, Lottie Rademaker, Anna Cherrington and Rochelle Hillier saw Okehampton getting into the strife during the first half.
The White Eagles played smart hockey and were able to draw Okehampton out of position and a midfield mistake led to the White Eagles snatch their first goal.
However, Okehampton did not relent. Forward Molly Petherbridge made some beautiful passes to Emma Wiseman who was denied by the goalkeeper.
Minutes before the half time whistle, the opposition sliced through the Oke defence and scored their second goal.
The second half saw a more inspirational Okehampton side. Runs by Cherrington highlighted the weaknesses in the opposition defence. Viv weatherington played was strong support to the fowards and helped keep the pressure on the White Eagles in their defending quarter while Hannah Whitely stormed through the defence to set up Wiseman with a determined goal. Okehampton continued this beautiful play hockey for the rest of the second half.
Oke player of the match was awarded to Lotte Rademaker for her excellent passing.
