THE game started well, with Jo Moppett scoring in the first few minutes for Oke with a reverse hockey stick hit but White Eagles hit back fast breaking through the Oke defence and equalling the score.

White Eagles put the home side under pressure for the whole of the first half. Okehampton’s defence of Abi Colton, Nicky Pedrick, Nicola Bennie, Anna Speak and Sophie Whiteley held the opposition off well with some great saves from player of the match, goalkeeper Alice Wiseman, but the Eagles scored their second goal from a short corner.

Oke had some good runs down the wings from Molly Marvin and Sophia Marshall, with Kim Davey hitting some good crosses in but Oke were unable to find the goal. The Eagles hit back and scored again before half time.

Okehampton started the second half 3-1 down but came back fighting. Okehampton had some great possession from Jess Medland and Hannah Whiteley and were awarded a short corner with Jo Moppett scoring from a pass through from Lesley Bingham.

Still fighting Oke kept pushing the Eagles defence and Jo Moppett scored a third goal. With five minutes until the end and the score 3-3 the Eagles hit back hard, breaking through Okes’ defence to hit the winner.
