OKEHAMPTON travelled down to Plymouth knowing it would be a hard game.

The visitors started on top with quick passing between Kim Davey and Jess Medland throughout the pitch. Their teamwork was rewarded with a quick short corner after just two minutes. Jo Moppett received the ball at the top of the D and fired it into the back of the net to go 1-0 up.

Okehampton continued the pressure, with excellent passing between Moppett and Hannah Whiteley setting up a two on one with the goalkeeper, it was soon 2-0.

Plymouth soon reached their stride and started to pile on the pressure, making attack after attack.

Excellent tackling from Oke’s Laura Parsons and Abi Colton thwarted any runs into the D by Plymouth. Keeper Alice Wiseman (Okehampton’s player of the match) made some outstanding saves to keep the ball out of the net and the score 2-0 at half time.

The pressure from Plymouth continued after the break, pushing Okehampton back into their D for most of the half. Plymouth were awarded a series of short corners but the strikes from the top of the D were expertly saved by Wiseman and Sophie Whitely with an excellent stop on the line.

A lack of concentration by Okehampton enabled the Plymouth attack through onto goal making it 2-1. A couple of unfortunate tackles by Nicky Pedrick and Moppett earned them time off the pitch after they were each given a green card.

In the last two minutes, all Okehampton had to do was to hold on and defend, But an unfortunate touch on a short corner shot, pushed the ball past Wiseman and into the goal making it 2-2.

Okehampton were happy to take home a point.
