ANGLER'S Paradise Halwill Junction held its annual Lure Weekend, which was a great success.
The sunshine came out to play and organisers thanked Luke Fox, Ben Tregoning and Rob Williams for their help at the event. A total of 12 different species were caught. Anglers returned good catches from the trout lake, mainly blues, tigers, browns and rainbows, the best fish was a 54cm tiger trout. Ben Tregoning hooked 10 trout to 48cm. A 7lb common carp was caught as well as chub, gudgeon, golden rudd, mirror carp and golden tench. A perch, estimated to be 3lbs 7oz, which was caught by Jack Perks, who won best specimen. The winner of most species was Steve Pirrazzo with seven.
Three year-old Zaine Drury-Gregorek caught his first ever perch and a blue trout.
