Okehampton ladies’ firsts 0
Plymouth Marjons ladies’ seconds 5
FOLLOWING two disappointing away games Okehampton were hoping for a better result at home this week facing tough competition against Plymouth Marjons.
Oke came out with a positive start but Marjons quickly showed their strength keeping any attempts by the home side to push forward at bay. Marjons piled the pressure onto Oke’s defence and it was not long before the first goal found its way in. This made Oke more determined but they could not find a way through and conceded two more goals.
Okehampton keeper Alice Wiseman worked hard stopping many attempts on goal from the visitors and the defence made up of Abi Colton, Nicky Pedrick, Amanda Sim were tireless in the heat.
Being three goals down the whole of the Oke team stayed behind the ball trying to limit the damage including captain Kim. This made it difficult to get a ball through to the forwards and Marjons continued to put pressure onto the home side, scoring two more goals.
Oke player of the match, Jess Medland.
