DARTMOOR Darts Aquatic (DDA) have spent the last three weekends competing at the Swim England South West Summer Championships.
Between them their eight swimmers returned with three gold medals,
Three silver and two bronze.
The first weekend held at Life Centre Plymouth was for those swimmers 15 years and over and DDA had two swimmers competing Matthew Plumb and Hollie Steer, both in the 16 years age group.
Matt broke two DDA records for his age group in the 100m freestyle and the 50m butterfly.
Hollie claimed three silver medals, the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, also breaking the DDA records and qualifying for the British Summer National Championships in all three events.
The second weekend was at Hengrove, Bristol and the third at Millfield in Street for all swimmers 14 years and under. DDA had five swimmers representing them.
Alice Chapman in the 12 year old age group progressed through to the 200m breaststroke final where was fourth and fifth in the 100m breaststroke.
Joshua Williams in the 12 year old age group was seventh in the 100m breaststroke in his first ever regional final. Joshua was also seventh in the 200m butterfly final.
Harry Morgan-Hughes in the 13 year age group broke the DDA record in the 50m butterfly while Emily Morgan-Hughes in the 14 year age group was fourth in the final of the 200m breaststroke, third in the 50m and 100m breaststroke - her times were good enough to qualify her for the British Summer Nationals Championships.
Cameron Williams in the 14 year age group won gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke in new club records for the 50m and 200m. Cameron also has placed himself in the top 10 of the country for all three events and qualifys for the British Summer National Championships.
Dartmoor Darts Aquatic chairperson Jenni Henry said: ‘This has been a fantastic effort by our swimmers being the second year running that Hollie, Cameron and Emily have qualified for the national championships.
‘Our younger swimmers showed great tenacity in producing so many personal best times and can come away from these regional championships with their heads held high.’
