MELDON rider Michael Heard rode a winning treble on Sunday at Wadebridge point to point.

The 19-year-old won the mens' open race riding Faasel, trained by John Heard of Okehampton.

Googoobarabajagal also trained by John Heard won the confined race. The horse is owned by a syndicate of local people. Michael won the restricted race on The Wealerdealer, which is trained by Mr Cummings.

Michael, from Hughslade Farm, Meldon, who was the Devon and Cornwall novice champion rider in 2011, now works full time for trainer David Pipe at  Pond House, Nicholashayne and rode his first National Hunt winner for him last week at Taunton racecourse on Home Run.
