CHAGFORD avenged their recent defeat at the hands of their hosts, by way of some resolute defending along with a man of the match performance from deputy 'keeper Tom Pengelly.
Josh Stanbury had given Chagford an early lead, which the visitors were determined to cling on to. The loss of influential players, Davis and Stone, was a setback for Chagford but this was comfortably absorbed by the introduction of substitutes Tom Stanbury and Will Hutchison.
This performance showed the team's spirit coming through again and, with a mere handful of games to go, needs to be carried forward.

IN a match of dogged determination, both sides played well but an almost unfathomable ten first half minutes left the hosts bemoaning their fate.
Sam Westaway gave Chagford a 21st minute lead when Stocks' shot was deflected, leaving the centre-forward a tap-in.
Possession was equally shared until Chagford conceded two goals in less than two minutes. Jake Welch netted the first comfortably on 29 minutes, Mike Ellacott equalising before the home side could draw breath again.
Ten minutes later, Alex Clist scored Hemyock's third much to the dismay of the home support.
Heads were lifted in the second half as Chagford played better and fought back. Jai Minett made an early impact, the substitute hitting the crossbar while introducing some urgency to his side.
Stocks also saw a chance clawed away by Pring, as part of a fine double save. Hemyock created fewer chances and, when they attacked the goal, they also found Knight and his defence more solid.
Defender Paul Spense headed home Chagford's second on the hour but, despite some real pressure the visitors held on for the points.
