OKEHAMPTON Argyle Football Club held their presentation evening on Saturday at the Countryman, near Sampford Courtenay and the occasion was enjoyed by players, managers, supporters and committee members.

The event was organised by club physio and committee member Pete Carter and the club thanked him and all the staff at the Countryman for making it an enjoyable occasion.

Award winners were: Player of the year — first team, Dale Chadwick; second team, Tom Williams. Players' player of the year — first team Dale Chadwick; second team Neil Vernon. Team clubman of the year — first team Dave Smith; second team Eddie Packer. Golden boot and Luke Alden.

The club celebrated a solid season in which the first team has finished in a comfortable mid-table position in division one east of the South West Peninsula League and the club has also won the best programme award in this division.

The second team has fought valiantly all season with a young side and managed to avoid relegation from division four of the Devon and Exeter League by one place. Both teams will continue in their respective divisions next season.
