SCHOOLS from the local area took part in the annual North Tawton football and netball tournament.

The top five football teams progress to the West Devon finals, while the top four netball teams move forward in their respective competition. The day was enjoyed by all, with a vast array of sporting talent on show.

After a hard fought competition the top teams who progressed to the netball finals were Chagford, who came first overall, Okehampton who were second, and Bridestowe and North Tawton who tied for third. 

In the football, the teams progressing to the football finals are: North Tawton, who came first overall, Hatherleigh second, Okehampton third, Chagford fourth and South Tawton fifth. 

  This year’s event proved so popular that schools had to be turned down which is a real indicator of the importance of sports in schools. North Tawton Community Primary School look forward to hosting the tournament again next year.
