AFTER their first dropped points of the season away to Teign last week Okehampton A were keen to return to winning ways. They also knew that a single point would be enough to secure the league title as they travelled to Plympton Grammar School Old Boys.

Okehampton started the stronger team and a quickly taken long corner by Neil Rolands beat the defenders and set up Jake Lloyd to reverse sweep the ball past a despairing keeper half way through the first half.

The away side continued to press and created chances through some well-worked play by Chris Luxton, Simon Bourne and Brett Lawson but they could not find that all important second goal.

The home team came out fired up at the start of the second half, pressurising the Oke defence of Alex Osman, John Jarvis, Tim Morgan and Mark Bingham.

PGSOB won their only short corner of the match which they dispatched despite the best efforts of home goalkeeper Ebby Valance.

The Okehampton side continued to press and man of the match Stuart Jarvis was a constant threat down the right wing with his lightning pace but the match finished a draw.

It meant that the league title was won and the skipper's season achievement had been reached.

Well done to the whole squad for a great achievement.
