In division one this week of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League Okehampton A were at home against Anchorage B.

Dave Wilson won the first against Karen Stephenson and also won his second against Steve Madge 12-10 in the fifth which brought the scores to 2-2. Oke A then stepped up a gear winning the next five singles to lead 7-2. Wilson and Roger Gilbert won the doubles against Stephenson and Madge for a final score of 7-3.

Anchorage A were at home to Okehampton C. In a hard fought first game, Malcolm Hopkins beat Zoe Bennett in five sets. Okehampton won the next eight singles with Cameron Brooking and Josh Parsons both scoring maximums. Hopkins and Dave Vanstone won the doubles against Bennett and Brooking for an 8-2 win for Okehampton.

Also in division one North Wyke were at home to Tavistock, the latter who raced through to a 10-0 win with Nick Davis, Peter Hicks and Roger Bowkett winning all their games.

In division two, Okehampton E were at home to Horrabridge A. Okehampton raced into a 5-0 lead.

Alfie East beat Brendan Seward, Lauren Loosemore beat Crispin Jordan and Roni Gallardo beat Gill Northey 14-12 in the fifth leg. Lauren won her second and went on to complete a fine maximum. Jordan pulled one back for Horrabridge against Gallardo, winning 11-9 in the fifth and also won his last singles against East. Seward and Jordan won the doubles against Loosemore and Gallardo for a 7-3 win for Okehampton.

Okehampton F were at home against Moretonhampstead. Frank Cockburn won the first against Richard Underhill 14-12 in the fourth leg. James May pulled one back though for Moretonhampstead against Connor Madge and Jude Shea, playing his first league match, won the next against Tom Madge. Connor Madge beat Underhill to level at 2-2.

Moretonhampstead then stepped up a gear winning the next five singles to lead 7-2. Jude and James both scored maximums. May and Ken Underhill won the doubles against the Madge brothers for an 8-2 win.

Also in division two the new Gunnislake B team were at home to Milton Abbot. The visitors proved to be too experienced for Gunnislake and ran out 10-0 winners.

The Gunnislake team were Penny O’Neal, Max Wildgoose and Ryan Taylor and Milton Abbot, George Anderson, Tim Westcott and Michael Blatchford.

Okehampton G were at home to Gunnislake A, who raced into a 4-0 lead. Mike Kinger beat Morgan Holt, Jack Flockton beat Will Ash and Trevor Luckhurst beat Thomas Chastey. Kinger won the next and went on to score a fine maximum. Holt beat Luckhurst and then went on to win the last singles against Flockton. Holt and Ash won the doubles against Luckhurst and Flockton for a 7-3 win for Gunnislake.
