Okehampton A 1
East Devon B 1
AFTER last week's defeat against the team at the top of the table Okehampton were looking to pick up three points from East Devon.
The game started well for the home side, who played the ball around the pitch and kept most of the possession. This gave Oke confidence and with that came the first goal. Jack Watson received the ball at the top of the D and his strike went just wide of the goal to but Toby Lloyd intercepted to slip the ball into the back of the net to give Okehampton A the lead.
With the one goal advantage Oke seemed to think that they had this one in the bag but East Devon did not want to lose and turned the tables. Putting Oke under pressure after a series of short corners they pulled a goal back taking the game into half-time at one apiece.
The second half saw both teams having chances to go ahead. Well played shots from Strong, Lloyd, Lawson and Watson were kept out of the East Devon goal. The visitors won a series of short corners due to errors in the home team's defence but the goal mouth was kept clear with great saves from George Morgan and a goal line stop from Mark Bingham.
The game ended in a draw as the teams walk away with a point each. There were a lot of positives Okehampton A may take from this game but equally as many mistakes to learn from.
The Okehampton man of the match was Hayden Bond.
