ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club in beautiful Spring like sunshine a large field entered a two to count Stableford competition for the Wilson Shield.

The winners of division one and The Wilson Shield were Rod Jones, David Williams and Pete Kiss with 83 points. In second position came Kevin Cornwall, Mark Wonnacott and Alan Searle with 82. Third place went to the team of Johnny Rattenbury, Paul Rattenbury and James Hall with 80 on the back nine.

Division two was won by Richard Goodger, Mike Charlesworth and Aaron Carpanini with 79, closely followed by Mike Davis, Ron Copeland and Graham Harding in second with 77. Steve Browne, Kevin Harding and Roger Slack were third with 74.

On March 6 the ladies played their first medal round of the year. The winner in the silver division was Marcia Guy with nett 72. The winner of the bronze division was Sue Stanbury with an outstanding nett 64, second was Janice Thwaites with nett 73.
