ON Saturday Okehampton Hockey Club took two seven-a-side teams to Dawlish to play in the Ben Houghton Tournament organised by Teign Hockey Club.
Okehampton one played six group games winning four and drawing two to finish top of their pool group.
With draws in their first two games, 1-1 against White Eagles and 2-2 with Tavistock. They then won their remaining four group games, 5-0 against Teign 1, 3-0 against Teign 2, 1-0 against Exe and 3-0 against Torbay to leave them top of their pool.
Goals from Sam Walley, Mark Parsons, Lesley Bingham, Jo Moppett and Hannah Whiteley, along with solid defending from Katie Adams, Luke Liversidge, Will Eveleigh and keeper Hayden Bond, helped them to finish top.
They met 'The Teignages' (from Teign) in the semi final who they beat 2-0.
Okehampton one met Ashmoor in the final and two superb goals saw the Oke team walk away champions.
Okehampton two came up against some tough teams in their group and failed to progress pass the group stage.
