Okehampton 8
PGSOB A 2
OKEHAMPTON dominated proceedings at home to bottom placed Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys in this hockey match.
From the start the hosts took control and their quick passing and movement was too much for the opposition to handle. The first goal was scored by Chris Luxton after a cross had come loose; the second shortly followed when Mark Parsons hit the post and the visitors all stopped, allowing Simon Bourne to reverse sweep one handed into an empty net. Parsons then added a third direct from a short corner before Luke Miller drag flicked a short corner towards the top corner only to see a defender's stick deny him.
The second half saw more of the same, Miller slotted home the fourth after great work from Josh Speak down the left and Parsons hit the fifth with a mishit shot that bamboozled the keeper and defender.
The visitors then made the most of short corner and then an excellent solo effort saw them grab two consolation goals.
This spurred the home side to improve again and Luxton added his second before Lewis Day found Sam Whalley and his reverse strike gave the keeper no chance. This was an excellent way to round off the first half of the season in their first season in Southern one.

Okehampton 4
THIS was a hard fought quarter final with the hosts starting brightly and giving Okehampton nothing. After a succession of short corners they took the lead.
Solid in defence Luke Liversidge, Simon Bourne and Alex Osman gave the home side scraps after the goal and after being reduced to ten men when Luke Miller saw yellow Okehampton had to sit back and bide their time.
Just before half time the scores were level when back to Mark Parsons smashed home a short corner.
The away side looked comfortable in the second period and with a flurry of yellow cards for both teams they took the lead when Josh Balsdon found Parsons to tap home.
The third followed shorty when Balsdon again provided and Parsons lofted the ball into the roof of the net.
Parsons then scored the fourth from a short corner before the hosts got a consolation from a penalty stroke.
