Okehampton 1

Torbay 5

AFTER their morale boosting win at Exeter University Okehampton knew they had picked up some momentum but their visitors soon stamped the experienced authority on proceedings.

Two quick goals in the opening ten minutes put the hosts on the back foot and with the away side's keeper doing enough to deny Lewis Day and Leon Oxenham it looked destined to not be Oke's day.

Mark Parsons deflected Sam Whalley's pass beyond the Torbay keeper to half the deficit before the visitors replied with a goal.

Whalley for Oke found Parsons who ramped an effort onto the post and Jack Watson and Whalley were both denied by good saves from the keeper late on. This was a scoreline that did not reflect the game whatsoever and the Oke side must not be too dejected with the result.

Okehampton 5

Plymouth University 1

OKEHAMPTON continued their excellent Trophy record with a comprehensive result against the Plymouth youngsters.

With the result never in doubt Oke played an attacking formation and played some superb hockey. Leon Oxenham opened the scoring with a tidy finish at the far post after being picked out by Mark Parsons.

Keeper Andy Harvey made a great right handed save to deny University a way back into the game before Oke grabbed another two before half time.

The hosts' midfield broke down play and fed Parsons who drew the keeper before laying off the ball to Oxenham and he finished well from an acute angle before Brett Lawson tapped home at the far post for three.

The second half started slowly and University pulled one back with a hard hit from the edge of the area and then Harvey produced a sensational right handed save to deny them a second. Oke's defence looked assured and Will Cooper, Luke Liversidge and man of the match Ross Davidson were outstanding.

Following a succession of short corners Parsons placed the ball into the bottom corner to kill the away side off and Oxenham grabbed his hat-trick with a simple finish.
