Okehampton ladies 2

White Eagles 5

DESPITE Okehampton ladies' first team having most of the possession White Eagles broke through the defence early on to go 1-0 ahead.

Not long after Oke piled on the pressure to win a short corner. Joey Drake pushed the ball out to Jo Moppett, who neatly slipped it across to Kim Davey, who passed to Lesley Bingham, to slotted the ball back to Moppett to equalise.

Eagles attacked in numbers; defender and Oke's Jane Jones caught a hard ball on the ankle causing her to miss the rest of the game. The visitors put a lot of pressure on the home side and scored two goals in quick succession to increase their lead to 3-1. Keeping a positive attitude Oke's Katie Adams received the ball in defence, and made a superb run up through the middle around several Eagles players. She put in a long accurate pass to the waiting Moppett, who dribbled the ball around the goalie and slotted it in to make it 2-3 at half time. After a half time talk from captain Davey, Oke went out with a positive attitude, making numerous runs and one-twos towards the attacking goal; however, they just could not find the back of the net.

Eagles came back pressing Oke's defence who worked tirelessly but the visitors scored twice more despite Oke's hard efforts.
