OKEHAMPTON suffered their first defeat of the season against a mid-table Torbay team.

The hosts never looked threatening creating little throughout the game, managing only three or four chances and having to defend solidly to prevent a higher score line.

The home side will have to bounce back quickly as they travel to Exeter to face ISCA next weekend.

East Devon A 1

OKEHAMPTON first's trophy match was a quarter final tie against East Devon seconds who are in the same league as the hosts.

The opening goal came from home captain Mark Parsons in the area swept home a delightful Tom Forrester pass.

The visitors started to move the ball better and but for some excellent defending could have equalised. The goal did finally come with five minutes of the first half to go from a short corner.

The second half saw a much more dominant display from the home side as they pushed for a second. The impressive Ed Howard linked up well with man of the match James Rogers to create a glorious chance for Parsons but his shot went just over the bar.

The second goal for Oke soon came when an improved Luke Miller combined with Forrester and they won a penalty flick, which Miller calmly stepped up and converted.

With 15 minutes to go Parsons saw yellow and the hosts rallied with ten players. Sam Whalley and keeper Andy Harvey both made goal line clearances while Will Cooper, Jonny Aylen and Luke Liversidge all making well timed tackles.

With five minutes to go when Rogers looked for a flick for sub Hayden Bond and via a foot Bond pounced and fired beyond a helpless keeper.

Okehampton face either Tavistock or Plymouth University A in the semi finals.
