ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club an individual medal competition for the Stanley Bridges Salver (best gross) was held.

The winner of division one and the salver with an excellent gross score of 73 nett 65 was Derek Owen. In second with nett 67 was Aaron West and third on the back nine with nett 68 was Evan Rees.

Division two was won by Alan Grimshaw with nett 65; Ron Copeland was second with nett 68 on the back nine from, in third, Steven Robinson.

Ian Butt was the winner of division three with an admirable nett 63; second Tim Butler with nett 67, narrowly beating Brian May in third with nett 68.

Okehampton Ladies still on a high after their recent victories, also competed in an individual medal competiton. The winner of the silver division with nett 68 was Penny Deakin. In second with nett 70 was Marcia Jones and third with nett 72 was Sue Williams. The bronze division was won by Maggie Caws with nett 71; Mary Keir was second with nett 75 and third with nett 76 was Jane Warren.
