MEMBERS of the public enjoying Okehampton's Edwardian evening were surprised to see a large group of Santas running through the town. These turned out to be members of the Okehampton Running Club who had entered into the spirit of the occasion donning festive attire over their running kit — the usual training run having been abandoned in favour of the festivities, mulled wine and mince pies!
Meanwhile, members continue to race. After completing the tough Drogo 10 the previous weekend, Sarah Haigh ran in the 10 mile Bicton Blister over Woodbury Common, finishing in 1 hour 50 minutes 21 seconds.
Jane Jackson ran the four and a half mile Bicton Lite, finishing 10th in 39.57. Marilyn Cooper went to the Cockington Christmas Caper, a hilly off-road race of just over seven miles near Torquay, to finish in 1.13.05 and second F55.
