EIGHTEEN months of fundraising and hard work by club members has provided Okehampton Rugby Club with a top quality new facility.
Members have been hard at work over the last year and a half to provide the club with a superb new gym and meeting room facility. The building is a former portable classroom block and was acquired from Chulmleigh Community College last year.
It was split into section and transported to the club on lorries. Club member Ross Campbell and others have worked hard over the last year to prepare the base, erect the building and install gym equipment.
Club president Maxwell Turner said: 'We are delighted with the new building. Now we have not only a first class gym for our members but also a superb meeting room for the coaches and players to get together.
'We are extremely grateful to the Okehampton United Charity for their financial support to make this project a reality.'
The chairman of Okehampton United Charity Allenton Fisher opened the building on Saturday, November 1.
