RUNNING conditions were ideal for the Bideford Half Marathon with the heavy rain holding off until after the end of the event. This popular race with its fast and largely traffic free course attracted a good turnout from Okehampton Running Club, who collected several UKA awards and two personal bests between them.
Paul Carter was the first member home in 37th overall place in a time of 1hr 22mins 55secs, a gold UKA award, followed by Robert Kelly in 1.24.17 (silver). Jane Jackson's time of 1.46.55 gained her a diamond award and Keri Quertier and Danielle Fulford-Brown both ran PBs. Keri, who has a club place for next month's London Marathon, completed in 1.51.12 (bronze) and Danielle knocked five minutes off her PB of nine years ago to finish in 1.58.53, a silver award time.
Other ORC results: Stuart May 1.31.07 (silver), Jeremy Tandy 1.34 (bronze), Jean-Paul Quertier 1.38.52 (bronze), Jason Ewing 1.43.44 (bronze), Charlotte Radnor 1.46.02(bronze), Anne Binns 1.50.33 (silver), Chris Fulford-Brown 1.53.36 (silver), Abby Metherell 1.56.50 (bronze), Danielle Fulford-Brown 1.58.53 (silver), Lauren Ausden 2.02.10.
