THE charities for this year's Cornish Fire and Rescue Service Half Marathon were Children's Hospice South West and the Fire Fighters Charity.
The event took place in near freezing temperatures, a hilly multi-terrain route taking the runners out of Bodmin through the beautiful grounds of the National Trust property, Lanhydrock House.
Among the runners Okehampton Running Club's Sarah Haigh ran a good race in 2 hours 13 minutes 35 seconds. A mother of five, Sarah manages to fit in her training around her family. This was an encouraging performance prior to her first attempt at the 20 mile distance in the forthcoming Duchy 20.
ORC runner Mags Jarvis received a gold award at the 5k Park Run in Essex and not a silver as reported in last week's Times Sport.
