JACKIE Dawes of Okehampton Running Club ran a personal best at the Rainbow Run at RAF St Mawgan, held in aid of Children's Hospice South West, completing the 5k in 25.08.
Her family were there to support and entered into the spirit of the day by helping at the yellow paint station which was sponsored by Helpful Holidays of Chagford.
Runners at the 6 Moor Miles from Yelverton had a real soaking in the torrential rain that fell during the race.
ORC's Mike Baker was first from the club to complete the scenic, hilly route in 49.12, followed by Sarah Haigh, still buzzing after completing her first triathlon the week before, in 1.06.04 and Janet White who, at 65 years old, was taking part in her first off-road race to finish in 1.07.34.
At the recent Club mile time trials, Will Lamerton ran a blistering time of 4.33 minutes setting a new club record.
