ON Sunday, February 15, the West Devon Community Badminton Network will be running a men's doubles badminton tournament at Parklands Leisure Centre, Okehampton from 10am until 2pm.

The tournament will take the form of an American one with a round robin section followed by a knockout event and is open to men across the West Devon area.

People are welcome to join the Sunday morning 'no-strings' badminton sessions at Tavistock Community Sports Centre and Parklands Leisure Centre, Okehampton — which are open to anyone. The network has provided equipment and coaching to a number of village halls across the West Devon area and supported Tavyside badminton in Tavistock which runs junior coaching sessions on a Saturday morning and a club session on a Monday evening: further details from http://www.tavyside.org.uk">www.tavyside.org.uk

There are also 'essentials' courses across the West Devon area, for social badminton players and 'smashup' sessions at Okehampton and Tavistock Colleges for young people to 'have a go' at the sport.
