DREADFUL weather conditions on Bank Holiday Monday did not deter some hardy Okehampton Running Club members from taking part in the ninth annual Peter Tavy Plod.
This lovely scenic race, which is organised alongside the Peter Tavy Village Fayre, climbs steeply up from the village onto the moors to 'Stephen's Grave' from where it descends via open moorland, lanes and woodland paths.
Enjoying the views was perhaps not uppermost in runner's minds as they battled with the wind and rain which also made for slippery conditions underfoot, but Okehampton members Andy Vallance, Mervyn Rice and Jane Jackson still enjoyed the run.
Club chairman Andy took second place in a time of 28.03, Mervyn finished in 34.32 and Jane, in 38.57 to win the female veteran prize having run the race alongside her border collie Meg!
