 OKEHAMPTON worked hard from the start with their hard pre-season training sessions paying off as they were sharp and quick around the pitch.

Jo Drake dominated the midfield intercepting Kingsbridge passes and distributing the ball to the Oke attack. 

Okehampton's slick passing soon led to Jo Moppett scoring the first goal with Captain Lesley Bingham claiming her first score minutes later.

Winnie Rademaker tackled well, winning the ball and then making penetrating runs deep into the Kingsbridge 25, feeding Jo Moppett with well placed passes which resulted in Moppett scoring her second.  Just before half time, Moppett found the back of the Kingsbridge goal again after a lovely solo run giving the Okehampton team a 4-0 lead.

Kingsbridge came out with renewed determination in the second half piling the pressure on Okehampton defence forcing Carol Taylor, playing a solid central defender, to mark the main Kingsbridge striker tightly. 

Sophie Whiteley and Amanda Sim worked well together on the right side of the pitch to cut out the Kingsbridge attack but goalie Shannon Osman had to make several decisive saves when Kingsbridge burst through the Okehampton defence.

In the last quarter of the match Okehampton took control again with Jo Moppett and Lesley Bingham passing the ball between them and scoring three more goals to give the team an emphatic win.

Next week Okehampton Ladies Firsts have their last friendly fixture before league matches begin. They play at home at 2.30pm
