Petroc division two
Sidmouth and Ottery ladies 1
Okehampton ladies seconds 3
OKEHAMPTON scooped a well earned three points for their hunt to ascend the league table.
The visitors made an impression within minutes of the whistle; a combination of good passing from Holly Davidson and Viv Weatherington saw a beautifully placed ball land at the feet of Alex Collins for her to propel the ball across the goal line.
Okehampton dominated the first half and saw young new player Hope Jewell demonstrate her promise as a Columbine in future games.
The second half started in the same vein for Okehampton with waves of attack by Sophia Marshall and Annebelle Rademaker creating opportunities for Hope and Rachel Adams.
Oke continued relentlessly to drive balls into the attacking D. Eventually, during a short corner Sandy Douglas' hammer shot put her side ahead for the second time.
The visitors did not stop here, despite the rain which threatened to end the match early. Oke applied more pressure on their opponents.
Captain and player of the match Rochelle Woollacott organised her midfielders of Anna Speak, Weatherington and Emma Wiseman to mark their players closely and closed down all challenges from Sidmouth and Ottery. Debbie Pritchard sent accurate balls up the field, one of which was picked up by Sophia Marshal who went on to a one to one battle with the goalie to put Oke 3-1 up.
