West Dorset 2
Okehampton A 8
OKEHAMPTON A team travelled to Bridport to face a West Dorset side who were matching them on points but had conceded more goals. Last week the boys were thinking of writing to Santa for a win —Christmas came early and so did Okehampton's first goal via captain Brett Lawson.
Okehampton's second goal came from good work by Mark Bingham — he found Lawson who clinically slotted the ball passed the West Dorset keeper.
The away side were in total control of the game, and two became three when Luxton latched onto a through ball by Jake Lloyd.
Brett Lawson rounded off an impressive first half display with his hat-trick goal, when Jonny Aylen who kindly stepped down from the first team, beat two players and found the captain to make it 0-4.
A great umpiring decision lead to a short corner for the home side, which in turn was cooly converted. Half Time 1-4.
The second half commenced with Okehampton running the show, West Dorset had a goal disallowed and Okehampton broke quickly and Chris Luxton got his second.
Okehampton goalkeeper Haydon Bond was left stranded for Dorset's second goal. Next came the move of the match when Luxton broke free down the left and provided an inch perfect pass to Simon Bourne whose one touch shot literally took the paintwork off the post and flew into the nett.
Luxton was soon denied his hat trick when Mark Bingham rose to clear his shot on goal with his head!
Okehampton's defence was holding strong with Zac Middleton playing well, and soon Luxton got his third goal following a goal mouth scramble.
The final goal came from a great through ball from John Jarvis who picked out Chris Luxton, his shot come cross was turned in by the West Dorset defender.
Man of the match went to Captain Brett Lawson.
