SAILORS from across the region battled for podium positions at Roadford Lake’s Goodacre Cup regatta at the end of August.
The three day regatta, hosted jointly by South West Lakes Trust (SWLT) and Roadford Lake Sailing Club (RLSC), saw 28 boats entering the Goodacre Cup in challenging conditions. Wind speeds ranged from zero to about 16 knots but the standard of racing was high and it proved an enjoyable weekend. Roadford also played host to the Buzz Inland Nationals 2015.
The overall winners were Roadford members Peter Scott and Charlotte Pett.
Phil Timings, outdoor and active development manager said: ‘The Goodacre Cup is one of the highlights of the sailing calendar at Roadford. Thanks to the work of RLSC volunteers the event offers high quality racing for all! This year the Buzz Inland Nationals fleet added an extra element to the event and also demonstrated what a great venue Roadford is for class events.’
