OKEHAMPTON Simmons Bowling Club will be opening the green for the new season on Saturday, April 14.

The club, in Simmons Park, has entered teams into the Exeter and district league, the 71 triple shields and have three teams in the Exeter over 60s triples' leagues. The ladies have entered the 86 triples shield, along with having a friendly fixture arranged most weekends. This gives all members a good chance of playing for the club every week.

Club secretary Bob Letchford said: 'We do welcome all, no matter what age or ability a new player may have.

'As a club we extend an open invitation to anyone would would like to try bowls to join us on opening day to meet with the members and to try the game.
