Okehampton ladies' seconds 2

Teign ladies' thirds 0

OKEHAMPTON ladies' seconds won once again, securing their position as second in the league behind Newton abbot.

After a scrappy performance last week, Oke were fired up and played skilful hockey.

They dominated from the start — however, Okehampton struggled to find the space to score.

The first goal eventually came from a short corner as player of the match Annebelle Rademaker had her first shot on goal, which was denied by the goal keeper but the ball landed at the feet of Viv Weatherington, who smashed it into the goal.

Teign responded, as they broke though and had a shot on goal; Alice  made a strong save and allowed Sandy Douglas to make a superb hit aross the pitch to Sophia Marshall; together with Emma Wiseman and Alex Collins she ran the ball up the line; however, she was blocked by the Teign defender.

In the second half the ball found itself near the D, as a free hit was taken the ball came to Alex. She was blocked by two defenders; but gave a short and effective pass to Rademaker, who then ran into the D with a cool head, smoothly slipped the ball past the goalie to make it another win for the Okehampton ladies.
