HONITON Town remained unbeaten after a slightly hollow victory against South Zeal on Saturday.

For 15 minutes the game flowed from end to end as both teams searched for the opening goal with Darren Gilbert on the South Zeal right wing looking exceptionally dangerous.

Honiton won a corner and the resulting scramble in the home penalty area saw Honiton awarded a goal and Darren Gilbert sent off for hand ball.

For the rest of the first half South Zeal gave as good as they got and equalised when Stuart Entwistle and Redd Cann combined to put Harley Cann through; Harley beat two defenders and the keeper to score a superb equaliser.

In the second half Honiton eventually over-ran South Zeal and scored four goals but the home side never stopped trying to get back into the game. They produced a fighting performance with 10 men against the top of the league side with Reg Wonnacott in the South Zeal goal making several tremendous saves.
