AGAINST bottom of the table Amory Green Rovers South Zeal took control in every area of the pitch right from the kick-off, snuffing out the visitors' possession within seconds of them even getting a touch of the ball.
Redd Cann, in the middle of the park, linked up well with make-shift centre half Matty Dennis, who covered superbly for the injured Lee Gilbert.
The first goal was scored by Zeal's ever prolific Harley Cann, who netted in a calm manner.
Amory were now completely at sixes and sevens, with Zeal being afforded far too much time on the ball in the centre of the park. Ryan Dennis and Adam Cark were clearly too skilful and adept for the floundering Amory fullbacks and this soon brought two goals — the second by Darren Giggsy Gilbert and the third from Harley Cann. Amory now struggled to even get possession of the ball with Zeal smothering them in every area of the field.
Redd Cann soon jumped on the goal-scoring merry go round, netting emphatically from 10 yards to make the score 4-0.
Sixteen year old Sam Jones was again playing in a fashion befitting a far more seasoned player and was tenacious and energetic in setting up the fifth for captain Cann, completing a 20 minute hat-trick.
The game for Zeal was now who would score next, with majestic passing football now being deployed by manager Garry Smith.
With the flood gates now open and the reservoir emptying for Amory, Cann netted a further three in the half, scoring six in 45 minutes. Darren Gilbert added another goal to his season's tally.
Amory compounded their miserable afternoon, by netting an own goal on 40 minutes.
Then came a moment of sheer magic from youngster Harry Smith, cutting in from the right hand wing to score a scorching drive into the top left hand corner. It was 11-0 to South Zeal at half time.
The second half started along much the same lines, with Amory unable to co-ordinate any type of tactic to stop the Zeal march. Some superb football was played by the home side with two touch passes and incisive running from the midfield and forward players of Zeal. This half brought goals for Darren Gilbert scoring three, man of the match Redd Cann scoring four, Harley Cann adding a further one to his impressive tally, substitute Scott Tremain smashing in two and winger Ryan Dennis clipping in one to make the final score 22-0, in favour of league leaders South Zeal, who now have a goal difference of plus 69 goals.
