THE hastily rearranged Tavy 13 date has been a storming success with runners. Not only have there been few cancellations from the original March 18 date, but there has been a boost to entries with the new date of Sunday, April 15.

The race has less than 40 places left so anyone who would like to run needs to enter quickly at www.tavy13.co.uk.

Race director, Martin Exley-Deane from Tavistock Athletic Club said: ‘We are really appreciative of the support from runners, the local community and the service providers. In particular Tavistock Lions have been a great help.

‘The Tavy 13 is a major fund raising event for the club and had we not been able to re-arrange the race it could have been a disaster. But the “Beast from the East” couldn’t defeat the community and the running community and the race is on!’
