THE iconic Tavy 7 road race looks like it will be selling out for the 2016 event, which is to be held on Sunday, October 23.

Race director Martin Exley-Deane said that with less than two weeks left before the event there are only around 100 places left.

He said: ‘Response to this year’s event has been fantastic with entrants coming from as far afield as Durham in the north and Hayle in the west.

‘Our sponsors, the local businesses, Mansbridge Balment and Ocean BMW are delighted that this scenic, undulating sevenmile run on the edge of Dartmoor proves as popular as ever.’

The course which starts near Plasterdown and heads west around the southern edge of Pew Tor before going through Sampford Spiney and then turning westerly on the homeward leg has been a real winner since it moved to its new home five years ago.

Martin added: ‘We still have a few places left if people enter quickly online and there are lots of places for the junior 1.5mile fun run where entries are taken on the day.’
