OKEHAMPTON Ladies' Hockey Development Team travelled to Exeter on Sunday to play in a triangular fixture with similar teams from Dart and Exe hockey clubs.

Their first game was against Exe. It took a while for the Okehampton team to settle but strong defending from Zoe Curtis and Anna Speak kept the Exe attack away from their goal.

Oke soon got into their stride with Molly Marvin and Melissa Pinfield attacking from the midfield but unfortunately the Okehampton attack could not penetrate the Exe defence resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Okehampton's next match was against a strong Dart team. Anna Speak organised the team from midfield and Louise Watts was unlucky not to score after taking the ball up the right wing and aiming for goal.

Okehampton were unlucky to concede a goal when one of the Dart attackers slipped the ball past the Okehampton defence and under the goalie. Okehampton then stepped up their game with more determined play. Sarah Bazeley crossed the ball well from right attack allowing Ellie Shayler to have several shots on goal but the Dart defence were quick to intercept and clear the ball leaving the final score 1-0 to the Dart team.
