WEST Devon has two representatives nominated as finalists at the Active Devon Sports Awards.

Running for more than ten years, the awards attract hundreds of nominations each year, but this year saw a record number of nominations that were judged by an independent panel of experts last week.

Among those nominated are Tavistock Specials football team co-founder Allen Lewis from Tavistock who has been put forward for the 'Contribution to Inclusive Sport' category.

Chagford Cricket Club has also been nominated in the Active Villages Project of the Year.

The ceremony, hosted by Jenny Walrond from BBC Spotlight, takes place at Sandy Park, Exeter on Friday, May 10.

Active Devon will be opening up tickets to the event which include a three course dinner, entertainment and access to the ceremony with all profits from the event going to the Exeter Foundation, which grants money to a number of Devon charities.
