Sidmouth U13s 25
Okehampton U13s 32
OKEHAMPTON started slowly and were made to pay the price for several missed tackles as Sidmouth opened the scoring with a try inside the first minute. Okehampton rallied though, and a brilliant solo effort by Jim Finlay levelled the game. Sidmouth were the better team though and soon recaptured the lead with a well worked team try.
The second quarter kicked off and it was Sidmouth on the receiving end of a quick score as a flowing Okehampton team move resulted in a try by George Dickinson.
This was followed up by tries by Tom Stevens and James McCullough. The former a result of some great work by the pack, the latter a great solo effort, following his own kick and touching down before the defender.
The third quarter saw Okehampton continue their dominance. This continued pressure and all round good team play allowed Kai Middleton to break down the wing before cutting back and scoring beneath the posts. The try was converted by George.
In the fourth quarter a resurgent Sidmouth scored directly from the kick off again. Mo Taylor crucially crossed the line for Okehampton again, giving the visitors a two score lead.
And despite a late try by Sidmouth, Okehampton held out for a deserved victory.
