Bridgwater B 2

THIRD placed Okehampton A faced second placed Bridgwater 'B' for the first league match of the new year.

Okehampton started strong with quick passing and their superior pace soon showed first Sam Whalley getting on the score sheet with a well placed shot into the bottom corner.

A superb through pass from Jake Lloyd found Daan Rademaker, who went one on one against keeper, and he coolly converted.

Rademaker was unlucky to have a second goal disallowed because the umpire had already called for a short corner.

Fortunately for Okehampton they scored from the resulting short corner by Brett Lawson.

Now 3-0 up, the young Okehampton side lost their composure and became complacent which resulted in Bridgwater scoring a quick fire double leaving Bridgwater full of confidence and right back into the game.  The score remained 3-2 at half time.

The second half saw the visitors start the more positive but were unable to capitalise; this allowed the home side to regain their composure and with 15 minutes left Zac Middleton had a shot saved by the Bridgwater goalkeeper only for Jake Lloyd to pick up the rebound and scoring to make it 4-2 to the hosts .
