THE 2443 OKEHAMPTON Squadron Air Training Corps has received a cheque for £500 from Okehampton Town Council.

The Mayor of Okehampton, Cllr Jan Goffey, recently presented a cheque to the squadron. The council approved cheque, for a grant of £500, coupled with funds from Devon County Council and monies raised at the Waitrose bag pack and Okehampton Show earlier in the year, enabled the squadron to purchase much needed sportswear.

A special mention should also be made of Cdt Helen Dalton and Sgt Caleb Bourne who are the Plymouth and Cornwall Wing, Sports Cadet of the Year for their respective age groups.
