BREAK-INS at two sports clubs and shoplifting feature in this week’s Okehampton area crimes

• Entry was gained to a tool shed at a property in Sticklepath by thieves breaking the door between November 12 at 6pm and November 13 at 8am. Items stolen included a chainsaw, hedge trimmer, jigsaw cutter, hand tools, and two circular

• Two men left Co-op, Market Street, Okehampton, with five bottles of alcohol, health and beauty packs and an electric toothbrush, in two Bags for Life, between 4.43pm and 4.48pm on November 13. CR/098935/17.

• Two men and one woman attempted to leave Waitrose in Okehampton with a trolley load of goods worth £950 between 2.08pm and 2.16pm on November 14. Police believe that the man and woman were filling the trolley with items from the shop while the other man was watching. Items included 14 bottles of different spirits, expensive dog food and household items. When they attempted to walk out of the shop they were stopped. CR/099168/17.

• A black Vauxhall Safira had its rear window smashed by a stone while parked on a private driveway on Portugal Way, Okehampton, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on November 15. CR/099597/17.

• A silver Vauxhall Astra had its offside tyres slashed and was keyed down the length of the vehicle on the offside, while parked at Crandford Close, Bridestowe, between 8.30pm on November 14 and 9.30am on November 16. CR/099732/17.

• Police are appealing for information following a break-in at North Tawton Rugby Club between November 14 at 8.30pm and November 16 at 9am. The side window was smashed and the culprits gained entry. They searched the bar area but nothing was stolen. CR/100106/17.

• Police are appealing for information following a theft at the bowling club in Simmons Park, Okehampton, between November 16 at 10pm and November 17 at 9.43am. Items were stolen and the till from the property was found by the premises. CR/100140.
