FIREFIGHTERS were called to investigate a fire in the roof space of a house in Bondleigh on Saturday morning.

They were alerted after the occupants reported smelling burning, and found one roof joist smouldering.

The crew put the fire out with one hose reel and, having established that the fire had not spread using a thermal imaging camera, cut out the damaged timbers.

The call to the address between Gospel Hall and Marepark Gate was made just before 9am.
