DEVON County Council is running a free class at Okehampton Library on Saturday June 5, with Alison Shakspeare, author of books including 'How to Enjoy Reading Aloud to Young Children', to encourage parents to read and enjoy books with their children.

Staff from the council's family learning service will focus on a well loved children's story, and making puppets and masks to bring the story to life.

The class, which will run from 10am to noon, is tailored towards parents of children aged three to eight.  Free refreshments will also be provided.
