I WOULD like to thank everybody who contributed to the 2015 Poppy Appeal, which is now well past the £10,500 mark.

In particular, I would like to thank everybody who collected for us around the town, including the staff and cadets of 2312 (Tavistock) Squadron ATC, who again were simply outstanding.

I would like also to thank all the businesses in the town who supported us and the Tavistock Edge whose donated knitted poppies made a very significant contribution to the appeal.

Finally, my thanks to Mrs Sheila Allen who came out of retirement in our hour of need and helped organise the 2015 appeal.
