SHEBBEAR College's kindergarten children returned to school after the summer holidays to find a very special letter in the post.

An envelope, embellished with the Royal crest, contained a letter from Buckingham Palace expressing sincere thanks for all the good wishes the children had sent to the Queen by way of cards and pictures to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.

Enclosed with the letter was an illustrated souvenir card showing images of the Queen throughout her reign.

Last year the children had a letter from St James' Palace to thank them for the cards and pictures they sent to celebrate the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
