THE traffic for the Ten Tors expedition was slowed further last Friday morning after police were called to an incident on the A30 at Whiddon Down.
A 22-tonne articulated tanker began to leak potentially dangerous chemicals onto the road at around 10.20am, and the A30 was closed in both directions while fire crews and police dealt with the spillage.
A second tanker arrived so that the load could be transferred away safely, and the road was fully reopened at 12.30pm.
